How To Get Out Of Bed - finding motivation to spend time outside in Autumn/Winter.
It’s warm here. You can feel the chill in the air, if you poke a toe out from under the duvet, or reach for your phone to check the time. It’s early, but not too early. A cup of coffee is calling, but it’s too warm to drag your body out from under the covers. And yet… The sun is creeping in from under the blind, and you can hear a robin. The dog is stirring downstairs, and you can sense it’s the kind of Autumn day where at this hour, the light is golden and the air crisp. Multitudes of

Staycation or Vacation? The rise in UK Camping.
If you've tried to book onto a campsite in the UK recently, you'll be aware that many are sold out far in advance, or work on a 'first come, first served' basis. Especially in the school holidays, its common to find that sites are full, especially the ones with the best facilities and Trip Advisor reviews. Gone are the days of rocking up to a field with a rickety shower and toilet block, paying a few quid and enjoying the peace and quiet for a few nights. My most recent trip was on a term-time

    A LAKELAND ADVANTURE
We were doing a swap; my brother's van for my car. Unfortunately, he's in Scotland and we are in the West Midlands. The solution? Meet halfway and turn the swap into a camp.  We left as early as 2 kids and a dog allow, and hit the M6 - then stayed on it. For 5 hours. The games of I Spy were wearing thin; the cries of 'are we nearly there yet?' starting to grate. Finally, after making our way through some pretty awful Bank Holiday traffic, we hit the Lakes and the motorway turned into a joyous

    SCOTLAND OR BUST.
Thank you Klare for this fabulous blog - to read more of Klare's work, visit her blog here: https://klaresworld.wordpress.com/ 1,700 plus miles. 4 dogs. 1 Bengal and a couple of humans in a van. What could possibly go wrong… I often wonder why we have this need to travel to the wilds and then it dawned on me: "The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest where the wilderness awaits you" I have this unexplainable draw to Scotland, the Highlands in particular. Like a moth to a flame,

HOW AN EARLY MORNING ADVENTURE CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Thanks to Rob Haggan from The Outdoor Adventure Blog for this week's guest blog post.  Read more of his writing here.  By this point in the year, I have usually failed in all of my New Year’s Resolutions. In fact,  by this point in the year I’ve usually completely forgotten what resolutions I set myself in the first place. This year has been different though, and my resolution of getting outside before work, as many times a week as possible, is going so well that I am starting to believe that an

    FIVE DAYS OUT IN WORCESTERSHIRE
The Malvern Hills The Malvern Hills are the sight that many Worcestershire residents are glad to see when heading down the M5 towards Worcestershire – once you see them appear in the distance, you know you’re home! They can be seen from all over the county, and from the top of them, on a good day, you can see Herefordshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, and into Wales. With around 10 miles of ‘as the crow flies’ walking to be had, they are amongst the most popular destination in our County.

The sun is beaming. I've just returned from a run and I’m feeling amazing - it's only 4pm. I am thinking to myself; it would be a shame to waste this day, I need to make the most of the sun. So, I decide I'm going to go wild camping. The peak district is usually my go-to place, but I fancy a change. I decide on Wales but
